Meet Dr. Mathew

FOUNDATION

She grew up in India. Dr. Mathew discovered her love for dentistry at the age of 6 years old. She pursued and completed her dental education in India. Later, she got married and followed her husband to the U.S., planning to continue her dental aspirations in the states. To her dismay, she discovered that her educational credits did not transfer, forcing her to start her journey through dental school all over again. Though her dream was questioned by well-meaning loved ones, she continued to pursue what she knew to be her calling. Her hard work and dedication paid off when she was accepted into NYU. She is incredibly grateful for the support of her husband, who continued to write her letters and bring her home-made gifts and treats when he visited her every few weeks from Ohio.

FOCUS

Dr. Mathew graduated with honors from NYU. But, she had this strong desire to further her skill set to help patients with a variety of complex needs. Once again, her husband as her biggest cheerleader, she was inspired to take an even bigger step of pursuing her dream of becoming a Prosthodontist. As one of only two residents chosen for this competitive program, she received 3 years of advanced speciality training at the University of Pittsburgh. There she served as the chief resident and also trained dental students to treat patients with complicated dental conditions.

As a Prosthodontist, Dr.Mathew is an expert in total mouth reconstruction and has gained special understanding of the perfect balance between art and technique in the dynamics of a smile. She offers many treatment options including but not limited to crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, surgical placement and restoration of dental implants, metal free fillings and correction of esthetic imbalances of a smile.

FUTURE

Dr. Mathew is known for her relentless dedication to remaining on the cutting edge of dental care practices, and we use the latest advances in dentistry, latest techniques, and finest materials because that’s what we would expect, as well. Dentists in GA are required to take 40 hours of continuing education every two YEARS for license renewal. Dr. Mathew invests hundreds and hundreds of hours into ongoing training each year. She is certified in conscious sedation to help her patients with dental anxiety. Does “snoozing thru the procedure” sound like music to your ears. Then you have come to the right place. She has completed multiple continuums, specializing in implant dentistry. Dr.Mathew in her passion to deliver the highest level of cosmetic dentistry, has completed the whole continuum @nashinstitute for dental learning. This has further elevated her cosmetic craft in full mouth rehabilitation for the more complex aesthetic cases.

FAMILY

Beyond TLC Dental Spa, she is a wife to her wonderful husband Liju and a doting mother to their twin daughters, Abigail and Isabella. She and her family are members of Cornerstone Church Athens where they are growing spiritually, loves volunteering  and making great friendships along the way. She loves to share stories with her family of patients, of her latest cooking experiments with her daughters, travel experiences and #momlife struggles and invites you to do the same!

Dr. Mathew has the distinction of completing her dental degree and then a specialty degree in Prosthodontics. She graduated from New York University, achieving her DDS degree with honors. Later, she pursued her dream of becoming a Prosthodontist, receiving 3 years of advanced postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh. There she served as the Chief Resident and also trained dental students to treat patients with complicated dental conditions, sharing her knowledge and experience.

 

As a Prosthodontist, Dr. Mathew is an expert in total mouth reconstruction. She offers many treatment options including but not limited to crowns, bridges, veneers, dentures, surgical placement and restoration of dental implants, metal free fillings and correction of esthetic imbalances of a smile.
